Ready to hit the slopes this winter?
Valmorel Le Grand Domaine > your safety on the slopes > Finding your way around the slopes
All trails in the Valmorel Ski Area are clearly marked with signs showing their level of difficulty. The colors, from easiest to most difficult, are: green, blue, red, then black.
Yellow-and-black markers indicate danger—such as cliffs, ravines, or hazardous areas. Ropes or nets may also be used to block off zones that must be strictly avoided.
Important: away from the signs at the edge of the slopes, you are considered “off-piste.”
Markers placed along the right side of a trail always have an orange top, making them easy to distinguish from those on the left—even in poor visibility.
You will also see round numbered posts along the slopes. These posts show the trail’s color, name, and a descending number—the closer the number is to 1, the nearer you are to the end of the run.
