Valmorel Le Grand Domaine > Safety on the slopes > Understanding avalanche risk
Avalanche risk is shown using colored flags and five pictograms, each representing a level of danger: low, moderate, considerable, high, and very high.
Before going off-piste, it is essential to check this risk level.
Keep in mind that some areas may still be more dangerous than others—conditions vary depending on slope orientation and steepness. That’s why it’s always best to ask the Ski Patrol for the most up-to-date snowpack information.
For your safety, the Valmorel Ski Area—especially the Ski Patrol team—is equipped with the RECCO avalanche rescue system.
