Valmorel Le Grand Domaine > Experiences > DVA Park
But do you really know how to use it?
In an avalanche situation, every second counts and knowing how to quickly locate a buried victim can save lives.
Owning a beacon is great. Knowing how to use it under pressure is even better.
That’s why the Valmorel Ski Area provides a dedicated DVA training park at the top of the Pierrafort gondola.
Open to everyone — professionals and amateurs alike — the DVA Park allows you to practice locating multiple buried
victims in a clearly marked area, as quickly as possible (a timer tracks your response time).
As a true prevention and awareness tool for freeriders, the DVA Park includes 6 beacons buried in the snow. The goal: locate the signals using your rescue equipment while the clock is ticking.
How to get there?
Located at the top of the Pierrafort gondola.
Free and open access. Don’t hesitate to ask the Ski Patrol for advice at the Pierrafort or Mottet rescue stations. Make sure to bring your own gear (at minimum, an avalanche transceiver and probe).
